history taking

The history wherever congenital cardiac disease is suspected should include:
- family history - known congenital problems, affected sibs
- perinatal history - infections, cyanosis
- feeding - shortness of breath during feeds
- sweating - especially where cold and clammy
- breathing difficulties
- cyanosis
- unusual behaviour - funny spells or turns, specifically ask about hypercyanotic - blue - spells
- exercise - difficulties, squatting afterwards
