Indications include:
- bowel sterilisation in neutropenic patients

Cautions:
- reduce dose in renal impairment

Contra-indications:
- myasthenia gravis
Side-effects:
- vertigo
- muscle weakness
- apnoea
- perioral and peripheral paraesthesia
- nephrotoxicity
