haemangioma of the liver

Haemangiomata of the liver are the commonest benign tumour of the liver with an prevalence in the population of 3%. (1)
They are usually detected during a CT scan or ultrasound scan of the liver.
Asymptomatic haemangiomata do not require treatment; resection is reserved for large symptomatic tumours.
