Intraoperative cholangiography may be used to delineate the biliary anatomy during a surgical procedure.
Radiographic contrast medium is injected into the cystic duct under direct vision. Fluoroscopic screening permits intraoperative imaging.
Intraoperative cholangiography has been recommended for use during laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
