  • primary lesions of the oesophagus:
    • neoplasm
    • diverticulum
    • megaoesophagus
    • achalasia
  • hiatus hernia

Disorders of the thoracic spine:

  • neoplasms
  • infectious spondylitis
  • fracture with haematoma

Various cysts:

  • neurenteric
  • gastroenteric
  • thoracic duct
