weight gain and zyban
Last reviewed 01/2018
- treatment with bupropion (Zyban (R)) appears to attenuate the weight gain
that commonly occurs after smoking cessation
- evidence from one placebo-controlled trial, showed that 6 weeks after smoking cessation commenced (7 weeks after starting treatment), those who had received bupropion 300 mg per day had gained less weight than those patients on placebo (around 1.5 Kg vs. 3 Kg) (1)
