cytotoxic drugs in pregnancy

The use of cancer chemotherapy drugs may cause embryonic death or malformation. These drugs are damaging to the fetus at any stage.
If possible the use of cytotoxic agents should either be accompanied by therapeutic abortion or delayed until after delivery.
